“The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.” – Marcus Aurelius
This is perhaps the reason Colors have always fascinated me. It is not until recently that I have discovered how they were greatly influenced my mood and perspective on life unconsciously therefore I began broadening my horizons of knowledge in color psychology and symbolism. As I will further expose, colors have profound spiritual powers and can positively impact our vibration, if we allow them to flourish elegantly. They are efficient instruments of healing, magic and divination and psychological indicators of emotional states.
Color is light, which is the the only part of the electromagnetic spectrum that Humans are able to see. We should all be thankful to Sir Isaac Newton for discovering that when pure white light passes through a prism, it separates into all of the visible colors, each color being made up of a single wavelength. Most importantly, Light can be combined further to form other colors.
Color is energy, Nature’s own powerful signalling system – an universal, non-verbal language, such as the instinct which warns over a food unsafe to eat, or the decisive signal of sexual availability in the Animal Kingdom. In today’s sophisticated world it is easy to underestimate the power of largely unconscious primitive instincts, although these are the exact same instincts which come powerfully into play when using colors into daily routine.
Color is love, and as I believe no one should escape the beauty of their true colors shining through, I have researched further on the significance and symbolism of each one of my favorites (all of them, obviously). Of course, I have only selected their positive traits for further reference (stop wearing black, please, that’s not even a color).
