Highly Involved with the Winter Sun – Episode 1. – Sibiu Christmas Market.
Hallo, my Christmas deers! 🎁🎁🎁
“Winter is coming” and I wish I didn’t open up my seasonal speech with such a promotional cliche but I absolutely adore the magic and enchantment it brings! 🎄🎄🎄
The urban peisage turns sparkling and festive as the Christmas markets open the doors of ethical perception to hand made crafts and delights and delicious street cuisine. The perfect opportunity to share my vision in just a few words – I support family businesses and creative arts, the dedication and emotional imprint the final product is enriched with, as opposed to the consumerist perspective and commercial trends. 🎉🎉🎉
I had the ocassion to visit Sibiu recently – the Härmeschtat of Transylvania, the first Romanian city designated to be European Capital of Culture in 2007 – for the annual Christmas Market, the 10th Anniversary edition! 🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊
The Paitici Royal Family Queen and King have joined me and they are the ones to thank for this wonderful trip, highly documented in artsy captures of myself adorning the medieval decor.
An episode to be enjoyed with Sun and Joy! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I would like to offer you a distinctive approach and a refined perception on medieval cities by mentioning memorable aspects about one of the most beautiful cities in The Holy Land of Balkans, with a spectacular potential for economic growth and a peculiarly festive “bourgeois” background.
Sibiu is part of Romania since 1918, but its significance and glory are given by historical and not political facts, according to me, such as the scientific discovery of the element Tellurium by Franz-Joseph Müller von Reichenstein in 1782, breaking the world record of having the first homeopathic laboratory initiated by Samuel Hahnemann in 1797 and the grand opening of Brukenthal National Museum in 1817, which I had the pleasure to attend for the Romanian Art Gallery.
What an elegant opportunity to visualize and study artistic details of fashion, jewelry manufacture and embellishment in historical portraits and peculiar significant aspects in the glorious art of divine Romanian painters such as Theodor Aman, Nicolae Grigorescu, Ion Andreescu, Ştefan Luchian, Hans Mattis-Teutsch, Corneliu Mihăilescu, Gheorghe Petraşcu, Theodor Pallady, Nicolae Tonitza, Alexandru Ciucurencu, Corneliu Baba, Ion Ţuculescu – just to name them all. 🌹🌹🌹
I suggest you to dedicate quality time to artistic endeavors such as enlarging your horizons to archetypal knowledge and timeless beauty and visit Brukenthal Museum, wonder around the local medieval city surroundings, have a cup of tea or coffee in the coffee shops in the center near the Christmas market and make your stay delightful in Sibiu. If you’re bored, just read book. Various book shops are available at your immediate reach. ☕️☕️
You also have numerous choices which could satisfy your appetite for the street cuisine of your preference, all fresh and delicious, everywhere you go.
Fancy a wurst? Lol.
Yes, please! I’ll have it with special fried onion, cheddar and pickle seasoning, yum! That was fun! 🌭🌭🌭
What else will you enjoy during the Christmas Market?
My dear ladies and gentlemen, just go with the flow – twinkling little stars, a grandiose Christmas tree, playful visuals during the evening and indulge yourselves into the childhood savor charms, such as stuffed plump and hot spiced mulled wine – so many delicatessen involved, yum! 🍪🍪🍪
I haven’t tried the wine myself though but considering the waiting line in store I assumed it’s for good reason.
Let me know if it was good. 🍷🍷🍷
Furthermore, there are all sorts of home made cookies, even roasted chestnuts, salted fried corn, sweet and salted traditional pies and irresistible sweets in store, which would make your tongue melt and emerge into the Divine.
Good looking food captivates and inspires me deeply – I assume it has the same effect on everyone. 🍰🍰🍰
All shops are opened, as well, if you are into mass consumerism, although I have to mention my eyes were “caught” by surprise in style on various ocassions and it’s wonderful to see a Romanian city with such a fashionable offering. 👒👒👒
The medieval buildings given the imprint of time offer a dimensional aspect to the commercial aspect of fashion as the decor and autumnal collections blend in perfectly to match standards and demands. Take a walk around! 🎖🎖🎖
Sibiu Christmas Market presents itself with many options of delightful gifts to offer to your loved ones indeed. 🎁🎁🎁
I recommend fashion wise acquisitions from local Romanian accessories designers – I now own a hand sewed orange French paintor beret to complement my autumnal style aromatic look. Should I mention international Artisan artists are present at this Romanian Reunion? I now have a colorful leather key chain Bunny Wally adorning my fuchsia bag. 🐰🐰🐰
I couldn’t resist it honestly, it’s a creative statement of complementary colors which in spite of the fact it demands real leather, it makes the product artistically count.
I could be accused of superficial social awareness but I realistically attest the fact that if people consume meat, they should not waste its skin (not the other way around) – spiritually intelligent products must be created in order to actually make this shade of consumerism count in terms of achieving the exclusive requisite of Beauty in creation, at least as a creative pursuit of manufacturing techniques, coloring pallete and versatility.
I am personally interested in purchasing a product which adds quality and the value of detail to my multiverse reality. ❣️❣️❣️
Something which enriches my senses and beautifies my view.
This is the Rhythm of Conscious Shopping – location, location, location – all central and easily reachable – quality merchandise and Christmas celebration hype! 🎄🎄🎄
Furthermore, in terms of historical location and satisfactory client standards and demands, I highly recommend Pensiunea Chic.
Comfortable, warming, chic indeed – a family business with an Italian restaurant suitable to my tastes – I’ve tried prosciutto, pecorino cheese, bruschetta, desert pleasure cups and always mineral water served in glasss bottles.
I do have a preference for that.
The building was built in the 15th century and it`s considered a historical monument, as stated in the National Cultural Heritage of Romania. The current status of the building is actually the result of organic evolution of the medieval house, originally having only one body, being extended with a second body in the 17th century.
Chic has a diversified accommodation structure with double rooms, deluxe queen rooms and a suite. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
All set and done – the quality premises of a pleasant stay in Sibiu have been revised, enriched and enlisted to you to match the high standards of a memorable stay, in aspects of beauty, history, art and nevertheless, Food. Don’t be surprised Sibiu will become The European Region of Gastronomy in 2019. The city and its surroundings is standing out through its exceptional heritage and traditions carried on by a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural community.
Amazing stuff going on in and with Romania, that is – I salute that!
Merry Christmas and Have fun! 👑👑👑
